At the 14th edition of Pravasi Bhartiya Divas held in Bengaluru, Prime Minister Modi addressed the diaspora and appreciated the contribution made by them towards the progress of the nation.
He stated that the pravasi Indians have been a huge support in government’s drive against black money and corruption.
Speaking on their contribution, he said that Indians abroad are valued not just for their strength in numbers but respected for the contributions they make. He added that the Indian diaspora represents the best of Indian culture, ethos and values.
Talking about ‘brain drain’, he said that we want to convert this trend to ‘brain gain’. For the Indian youth seeking employment abroad, he said that the government will soon launch a skill development programme called ‘Pravasi Kaushal Vikas Yojna’.
