Ever since PM Modi announced the demonetisation move, Jan Dhan accounts have seen deposits surge in a short period of time.
However, the government is now going all out to protect the interest of farmers and rural Jan Dhan account holders from money launderers.
The RBI has issued a notification while setting a temporary withdrawal limit of Rs 10,000 a month. On November 8, the Centre decided to ban Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes in order to curb black money menace, and issued new Rs 500 and Rs 2,000 notes.
However, those who account holders who wants to withdraw more than Rs 10,000 a month, will have to provide appropriate documents to the bank as a proof.
