Haryana is all set to observe first-ever international Gita Mahotsav from December 6 to 10 in Kurukshetra, the state government said.
With an aim to set a world record, 18,000 students will recite ‘Ashtadash Shaloki Gita’ at the mega event. Also, 18 preferred versions of Gita from many chapters will be recited on this occasion.
As per sources, youths from 574 districts across the country will participate in the Mahotsav. Every student will have one Shloka scripted on their traditional attires.
The international event will be inaugurated by Indian President Pranab Mukherjee.
Various competitions and activities will be organized in the Mahotsav like essay competition, rangoli competition, photography competition & exhibition, recitation of Gita Shaloka, online quiz on Mahabharata, drawing competition, fancy dress competition, among others.
Live telecast of programmes and aarti will be streamed on YouTube for those who cannot reach Haryana for the event.
