The stalwart figure — Fidel Castro — who was known to be one of the most controversial revolutionary leader not just in the history of Cuba but around the world is no more.
The leader governed the Republic of Cuba and then served as the Prime Minister from 1959 to 1976. He then became the President from 1976 to 2008.
Castro was mainly responsible for converting Cuba into a one-party socialist state under Communist Party rule.
His presence had always left a mark on the international platform.
