One such example is when the White House celebrated the 548th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, founder of Sikhism.
Guru Nanak Jayanti was organised at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building in the South Court Auditorium of the White House. 150 members of the Sikh community along with senior officials of the White House attended the celebration.
During the event, the speakers also expressed their concern over rising hate crime against Sikhs under mistaken identity.
