Pravasi Bhartiya Kendra was finally inaugurate in Delhi on Sunday. At the inauguration External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said this centre is “a memorial for those who went abroad” to earn a living for themselves.
Swaraj said the centre represented the beauty and diversity of our heritage as well as India’s modernity.
Describing PBK as no ordinary building, Swaraj added that this is a memorial for our forefathers who went abroad. This is rememberance for them, it’s a proof of our tradition.”
She further talked about the memorial and mentioned that there are many facilities in this centre for the pravasis (diaspora). They can stay in this building as well. It incorporates art and culture of every state of India.
The building was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
